Library

This is our library of resources. It includes our own publications and videos, as well as suggestions for further reading and links to other websites with relevant material.

We have specific sections for key topics such as stocking, habitat restoration, and hydropower. These will expand over time to include our own WTT papers (with updates) which consolidate the current scientific research.

WTT publications

Our practical guides to habitat management and improvement are available to buy from our shop and some are available to download here.

Articles that we have published in fishing magazines such as Trout and Salmon and Total Flyfisher or in our own Salmo Trutta journal are available to download as PDF files here.

Mayfly in the Classroom’ was developed by us as a simple and low cost way of bringing river ecology to life in the classroom. A full set of teacher’s materials is available here.

Video

We have lots of video material available on You Tube and on Vimeo. It contains our own videos as well as pertinent material from other sources.

We also have a specific tab in the library directory devoted to How to’ videos that demonstrate particular techniques for habitat improvement, including some project case studies. These have been made with professional film makers, Fish On, during WTT Practical Visits and Projects.

Further reading

Through our own staff, supporters and Advisory Panel we keep up to date with the latest research and publications relating to Salmo trutta. If you know of a publication that you feel is of good quality, is reasonably widely available, and should be included here, please let us know by emailing jgrey@wildtrout.org

We carry book reviews and a roundup of the latest developments in trout science in our annual journal, Salmo Trutta. Back copies can be purchased through our shop.

A list of relevant Government publications such as White Papers and the National Trout and Grayling Strategy are available to download here.

Some relevant and (we think) interesting books are listed here. We appreciate this is not an exhaustive list.
